Onxiam

Social Media Identity Management

Back in 2006, I had an idea. When telling people how to find me on various social networking sites, I found myself saying "On (x) I am (my username)." I decided to consolidate my online identities in one place, and this led me to build Onxiam.com.

Designed, architected, and programmed entirely by me, Onxiam was a fun project that utilzed ASP.Net, XHTML, CSS and some custom Javascript. Shortly after launching, people found value in the site and began signing up to use Onxiam.

I had plans to release an enhanced version 2.0 which would utilize APIs to fold together online activities from your various social networks into one consolidated "feed of me". However, being a solo just-for-fun project, I didn't have the time in my schedule to complete this and roll it out before FriendFeed and others came online.

Onxiam still lives on to a small degree, but it will likely be retired soon and it will be just a fun memory.
